Day 3

The gang with our pilots Andy and Connie, after our plane ride into Kantishna, the farthest accesible area in Denali's 6 million acres.  We were delayed for 4 hours due to fog, low clouds and poor visibility.  The wait was worth it! Seeing the massive size of Denali from the air ,,, although just the top peak of Mt. McKinley was visible through the heavy clouds....and usually they can get within 1/2 mi....we weren't able to get very close at all. The bus ride back from Kantishna to the Denali airstrip took just 5 hours, along some very narrow and winding roads and stopping for brief intervals when wildlife was sighted.  We saw several moose and caribu.  Just missed seeing a lynx eating something dead on the Park Rd. too.  Awesome day of amazing scenery...
